A warming welcome, a magnificent location and an even better company. This is a summary of our experience as a LGBT couple at Arcos House!
A few months ago, in the beginning of May, both me and my girlfriend decided we needed a break. The Minho region is very well known for its Rural Housing options and we ended up choosing one in the small town of Arcos de Valdevez. Today, we share with you how everything went and how we were received as a LGBT couple at Arcos House.
Arcos House is one of the units we work with at Rumo Norte. Their photos – which you can find here – are gorgeous and being so fond of nature we were excited to arrive.
We were greeted by Mr. Rui from the reception desk who, though an event was going on and his presence was needed, did not rush our check-in procedures nor discarted us with excuses. We presented ourselves to him as a LGBT couple looking for a great stay and were welcomed with a big smile and a cheerful, easy check-in.
Do not fool yourself into thinking Rural Housing only means old furniture! The house we chose was Casa do Loureiro. It was modern, well equiped and had an amazing view over the valley. Due to the late hours of our arrival, this is something we were only able to fully enjoy once we got up in the morning.
Our experience as a LGBT couple at Arcos House was excellent from start to finish. There are a total of 4«14 houses in the lodging. Situated at the village of Carralcova, about 12Km from the town of Arcos de Valdevez, Arcos House is pretty close to Parque Nacional da Peneda Gerês (Peneda-Gerês National Park), one of UNESCO’s Biosphere Worldwide Reserve.
Arcos House also has direct access to Oussias Eco-Park whose biodiversity and landscapes will have all nature lovers fascinated.
Close and/or within the Eco-Park you can also find several trails, such as:
– Lombadinha trail;
– Ecovia do Vez trail:
– Fojo da cabrita trail;
– Among others.
For those who prefer to relax a bit more, the lodging’s pool is also incredible.
How would we classify our experience as a LGBT couple at Arcos House?
Picture yourself tasting you favorite drink, laying on your towel, listenning to the sounds of the pool’s waterfall and the chanting of birds as background noise. It’s magical!
To be welcomed as a couple at Arcos House was a privilege. A true gift of the Minho region and an excellent choice to those looking for a different programme, far from the city noises.
Arcos House has Rumo Norte’s – LGBT friendly quality stamp.
