#RumoAoMinho Day 1: a taste at local experiences
The schedule for the day was tight, we won’t lie. But how could you pick up on over 30 years of history and culture and put it into just a few hours?
We chose the local Braga burguer shop DeGema for our lunch time. DeGema is a fantastic place to start an authentic experience because their burguers are named after traditional, Braga expressions.
After our lunch break, our next stop was the hotel our guests would stay in: Torre de Gomariz Wine & Spa Hotel 5*.
Torre de Gomariz is a luxury hotel and was the best choice for this kind of trip. Portugal is a country where luxury is affordable and that was exactly what we wanted to share with everyone. We were greeted by Director Nelson Matos and a welcome house wine drink with some freshly made snacks.
The best part though was were we were greeted: the tower of the hotel! Its 360º view is stunning and undoubtedly the best place to showcase this beautiful hotel.
Aliança Artesanal holds more than 30 years of history of love in the Vila Verde town. The craftsplace is where the tradicional Lenço dos Namorados (lovers handkerchief) is made. Legend says it was the old way to propose to someone’s lover.
The local brewery A Letra is where locals come to have a taste a different, crafted beers. Our influencers had the chance to have a private, personalized tour and a taste at the 6 different, most recurring sold beers of the brewery.
The visit to the town of Vila Verde wasn’t over though. There was still a scheduled dinner at the local party Festa das Colheitas, which celebrates the success of the harvests in town. The dinner was an offer of the Vila Verde’s Tourism Office.
At the end of the day, traditional portuguese music was in everyone’s ears, as well as a lot of enthusiasm for what the next days had to offer.
