#RumoAoMinho Day 2: nature at its best
The second day of the #RumoAoMinho trip was dedicated to what we, at Rumo Norte, love so dearly in Minho: nature and its landscapes. Our partner Go2Nature, in the shape of Engineer Sónia, was our escort for the day.
The National Park of Peneda-Gerês is huge and rich in experiences and places to visit. We knew we wouldn’t have the chance to visit the park in its entirety so we had to make choices and plan the trip accordingly.
For this reason, our day started early. Our first stops included the local, small villages of Germil and Brufe. It would be unthinkable to visit the National Park and skip any of the Aldeias de Portugal, the historical small villages of Portugal.
For lunch, our choice was O Abocanhado restaurant. Not only because of its food quality but mostly for the view.
Our afternoon was booked for a swim in the natural lagoons. Regreattably, though, most of them were dry due to the weather conditions and heat the northern Portugal region was facing. There was still time to stop at Vilarinho das Furnas Dam for a quick explanation from Engineer Sónia and a snack on the shore of Caldo River.
The second dinner of the trip would take place at Torre de Gomariz Wine & Spa Hotel 5* with a a la carte menu and wine tasting.
